Peugeot Paris u'Select Salt Mill 8 3/4" : Natural

Widely used by many of the world’s greatest chefs, and essential and beautiful as kitchen tools, Peugeot mills are renowned as the ultimate benchmark in the art of grinding for almost two centuries. Peugeot’s exclusive, patented steel mechanisms, including spice-specific mechanisms for each spice, provides users with world-famous reliability and unequaled grinding quality.

The Peugeot salt mechanism is designed to grind cooking salt. It is made of stainless steel and is not sensitive to salt corrosion.

Peugeot u’Select Salt Mill : A great innovation

When it comes to salt and pepper, everyone has their own preferences in adjusting the seasoning in their food. Peugeot offers this option with its patented u’Select system, which has several pre-selectable grind settings.

From coarsely ground salt or to the very fine, u’Select offers pre-set adjustments:

  • 6 pre-defined levels of grind for salt.

Simplicity: just turn the ring at the base of the mill and select one of the positions, each one corresponds to a consistent grind size.
The further you turn the ring, the finer or coarser the grind, depending on the direction turned.

Which salt should be used?

To get the best out of your Peugeot salt grinding mechanism, you should use:
dry, coarse salts, with a diameter of 4 mm (0.16″)
– sea salt
– rock salt (mined from an underground salt seam)

Do not use your Peugeot salt mill for grinding:
•pepper or any other spice.
•damp sea salt, also known as grey salt, (Guérande, Ré, etc.). That is because its moisture content is so high that it will corrode the mill.
Use a specific Peugeot mechanism for damp salt. Its shape and materials have been designed to resist salt corrosion.

All wood used for Peugeot mills comes from PEFC certified European forests. All mechanisms are guaranteed for life, and all Peugeot mills are designed, developed and assembled at their location in France.

Peugeot’s history began in France in 1840, with the manufacturing of coffee mills. The first pepper mills were created in 1874.  Manufacturing everything from hand tools and bicycles to automobiles, the Peugeot brand has established a magnificent tradition in steel.
